The Royal Academy of Art presented the first exhibition of Modern British Sculpture in 30 years, offering a unique view and exploration of the terms “British” and “sculpture”. By chronologically bringing together works from across the former British Empire, new connections were encouraged to be made, bringing to light influences between continents and cultures and the impact of British Museums (and the Royal Academy in particular) in shaping modern British sculpture.
Among the artists included in the exhibition were:
- Jacob Epstein
- Barbara Hepworth
- Henry Moore
- Anthony Caro
- Richard Long
- Julian Opie
- Damien Hirst
Guided tour with sculptor and exhibition curator, Keith Wilson
We are most grateful to Christie’s and Mrs. Anke Adler-Slottke for this rare opportunity.
