Scholarship Programme for Talented Students

from Disadvantaged Backgrounds

Sponsored by the British Friends of the Art Museums of Israel (BFAMI)
at the Meyerhoff Education Centre of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art

The Art Education Department of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art sponsors a range of after-school art education programmes for children--from all socio-economic backgrounds--who have demonstrated artistic talent.  Over 600 children currently participate in these classes.

The program spans several years. Students admitted to the programme expand their knowledge from year to year as the subjects to be studied are adapted to their evolving intellectual, emotional and motor skills.   By virtue of scholarships provided by the British Friends of the Art Museums of Israel (BFAMI), about 100 needy children are currently participating in these after-school classes.

The classes focus on painting and sculpture, photography and video and computer art.  Through the scholarship programme and weekly art workshops at the Meyerhoff Art Education Centre, the Museum is fulfilling its mission to serve the needs of talented children and youth, regardless of their families’ socio-economic status.
